6 Days in Scottsdale (4/6)

Rushing to get the last 3 days written. These will be much shorter entries luckily! I have to get them all done by noon tomorrow. It is Cinco de Mayo so a full two weeks since my AZ trip. And tomorrow I have my reward for turning 60 years old this month….second colonoscopy.

April 21, 2024. Sunday. We were invited to the post-Bar Mitzvah family brunch at my cousin L’s house but didn’t have to be there until 11 am so Alex and I had a relaxed morning.

I did a hard hour on a Peloton bike (gym was all mine at 6 am Sunday) and then a 30-minute swim. Breakfast was just an apple and a Clif bar after gorging so much at the party Saturday night.

It was very nice to have the chance to relax and hang out with Blake and Caleb. I made Alex and them recreate a photo I had from 2019.

Almost all houses in Phoenix, even in very upscale areas, are single-story because of the heat.

The mini-Knish were soooooo delish!

I got a little exhausted from all the talking and took a break on a lounge chair in the shade. I lasted about half an hour before it got too hot for me and I retreated to the A/C. It was 95 degrees outside so really just a mild spring day compared to the weeks of 120-degree highs they will have in the summer. If I lived there I imagine I would acclimatize somewhat.
