Blue skies out the window of my Homewood Suites in Billings, MT. Slept well in comfy bed and look forward to shave and shower this morning. I saw a sign yesterday about a turnoff to Pictograph State Park and it is only 5 miles from here, it opens at 9 so I will do that first and then drive to South Dakota. I had trouble finding a place to camp before all the May 1 opening dates but used my HipCamping app (like airBNB) and found a nice place just 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills forest. A lot of the listings are just people who own farms or have lots of land which is perfect for my van. The next night will be at a KOA campground near Sioux Falls and then I will stay at a State Park west of Madison, WI and then Chicago.
